Durham University has confirmed it is one of the top universities in the world after maintaining its high position in the QS World Rankings by Subject
Durham University has reinforced its position as an education leader thanks to results in the latest ?QS World Rankings by Subject?.
The university?s geography department was ranked fifth in the world. Meanwhile, in four other subjects; earth and marine sciences, English language and literature, history and physics and astronomy, Durham made it into the top 50.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject are annual university rankings published by Quaquarelli Symonds, a company specialising in education.
QS also provides a league table for overall rankings which will be published in the autumn.
In this year?s QS World University Rankings by Subject, 2,858 universities were evaluated and 678 institutions were ranked.
Professor Chris Higgins, vice-chancellor of Durham University, said: ?Durham University is pleased to have maintained such a consistently high position in the QS World Rankings by Subject, further confirming that we are among the top universities in the world.?
