Amy Matthews nails down another home improvement show ...

Amy Matthews

Minnesota native Amy Matthews is back with another TV show to tuck under her tool belt.

The licensed contractor who grew up in Robbinsdale is already a staple on the DIY Network ("This New House," "Sweat Equity," "Bathroom Renovations" and "Blog Cabin"), and now she's adding HGTV to the list. She will be a host on the cable channel's new series "Renovation Raiders," debuting at 8 p.m. May 30.

Filmed in the Twin Cities, "Renovation Raiders" is a remodeling show with a fun twist. While the homeowner is gone for a couple of hours -- say having a nice dinner -- a crew comes in and does a major remodel of one room in the house. How do they do that in such a short time? Leading up to the big event, contractors work with another one of the homeowners, who is in on the big surprise, and strategically plan the remodel, being extra careful not to be caught by the unsuspecting party. Tune in to see if they can pull it off.
